She was also nominated in a variety of categories for her performance which included the Screen Actors Guild Awards seven times for Outstanding acting by a woman in the field of a Comedy Series. One of her first performances was in a McDonald's commercial, which also featured John Goodman. She made her series debut in the year 1986 on The Ellen Burstyn Show. Then she guest-starred in sitcoms like Seinfeld's Frasier Wings, Ned and Stacey Mad About You Caroline in the City 3rd Rock from the Sun and Just Shoot Me!. She played a main character on a fifth-season episode of Murder She Writes' Coal Miner Slaughter. She relates that she was not working as long when I was stressed because I did not know how to pay rent. My agent called me on one day to inform me I had been given a guest appearance of $5,000. Her heritage is English Irish and Scandinavian. When she was six, she studied ballet and danced at Oklahoma City Ballet.
